Secretary Cegavske Announces a Small Increase in Active Registered Voters in May

(Carson City, NV; June 1, 2017) – Nevada Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske reports an increase of 815 active registered voters statewide during the month of May 2017, as compared to April 2017.  The total number of active registered voters in Nevada is 1,476,095, an increase of 0.06% from the prior month.

Democratic Party active registered voters decreased statewide by 197 (0.03%), and Republican Party active registered voters decreased by 251 (0.05%). 

Nonpartisan active registered voters increased statewide by 835 (0.27%), Libertarian active registered voters increased statewide by 32 (0.23%), Independent American active registered voters increased statewide by 133 (0.20%), and active registered voters from a compilation of “other” minor political parties increased statewide by 263 (1.54%).

Of the 1,476,095 active registered voters in Nevada:

• 580,936 are Democrats (39.36%);

• 488,971 are Republicans (33.13%);

• 309,645 are Nonpartisan (20.98%);

• 65,301 are members of the Independent American Party (4.42%);

• 13,900 are members of the Libertarian Party of Nevada (0.94%); and

• 17,342 are members of other minor political parties (1.17%).
