Carson City, NV – Secretary of State Ross Miller has finalized his staff appointments and will be ready to hit the ground running after he takes the official Oath of Office today, January 1st, 2007.

"The leadership team brings a diverse background of legislative, governmental administrative and legal experience," Miller said. "These individuals are well suited to increase office efficiencies while providing strong leadership in the areas of securities regulation and election law enforcement."

Serving as Miller's Chief of Staff will be Nicole Lamboley, who served in state and local government for the past 15 years. Lamboley, 39, most recently served as campaign manager for incoming Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto.

"Nicole has a broad range of public sector experience and brings a record of accomplishment, which will be an asset during next year's legislative session," Miller said.

Lamboley served as Legislative Affairs Manager for the City of Reno for three years, and was in charge of the city's legislative lobbying efforts for the past two sessions. Before that she was Senior Regional Manager for the National Association of Manufacturers and Deputy Chief of Staff for former Governor Bob Miller. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and has a Masters in Public Policy from Georgetown University.

Other appointments are as follows:

Matt Griffin, Elections Deputy – Griffin was most recently an associate with the law firm Kummer, Kaempfer, Bonner, Renshaw and Ferrario. He is also a former Carson City prosecutor. Griffin received his undergraduate degree from the University of Nevada and his JD from Boyd School of Law.

Kate Thomas, Operations Deputy – Thomas was most recently Assistant to the City Manager in Reno. She also served as a management analyst for the City of Thousand Oaks, CA. Thomas received her undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and an MBA from the University of Phoenix.

He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Nevada and is a certified public accountant.

Chris Lee, Southern Nevada Deputy – Lee is a former prosecutor with the Clark County District Attorney's Office. He received his undergraduate degree from Occidental and his JD from Santa Clara University School of Law.

"We've got an aggressive agenda that will focus on campaign reform; continuing to make the Secretary of State's office more accessible to business and championing legislation to stiffen penalties for those who break Nevada's election laws," Miller said.
