Nevada Can Help Build National Trend in Increased Voter Participation Says Secretary of State Ross Miller - Iowa Results “Sets the Bar High” for Nevada Caucus
Carson City, NV – Reacting to record caucus turnout in Iowa, Nevada Secretary of State Ross Miller today called the Iowa turnout a challenge for all Nevadans. “The strong turnout in Iowa sets the bar high for Nevada’s caucus turnout,” said Miller. “We have every reason to expect Nevadans will be a part of what is hopefully the beginning of an upward trend in voter participation nationally.”
I expect that our efforts to increase both transparency and accessibility in Nevada will support that trend. Nevada voters can find information on their own current voter registration status, as well as their recent voting history, and their caucus and polling locations by visiting SilverState08.com. We also have links to other caucus websites provided by the respective parties. The upcoming caucuses are a tremendous opportunity for Nevadans to not only demonstrate their civic commitment, but to also impact the outcome of the national election.”
In his capacity as Secretary of State, Ross Miller is Chief Elections Officer for the entire state, supervising state, county and municipal elections; enforcing state and federal election laws; overseeing candidate filings; registering and filing Campaign Contributions & Expense Reports and Financial Disclosure statements; and, certifying statewide candidates, ballot questions and election results.
