Secretary of State Releases Final Voter Registration Numbers for 2014 Primary Election

(Carson City, NV; May 23, 2014) – More than 1.1 million Nevadans are registered as active voters for the June 10 primary election following the close of the registration period on May 20. In all, 6,608 Nevadans registered to vote since the end of April 2014.

Between May 1 to May 20, Democrats registered 1,770 voters, while Republicans registered 1,968 voters. Active registered nonpartisans increased by 2,372 during the same time period.

Of the 1,153,522 active registrants statewide, 40.81% (470,793) are Democrats, 35.29% (407,084) are Republicans, 17.73% (204,488) are nonpartisan, 4.79% (55,245) are members of the Independent American Party, and the remaining 1.38% (15,912) are members of the Libertarian or other minor parties.

The total number of active registered voters at the close of registration for the 2014 primary election is up by 94,714 compared to the 2012 primary election close-of-registration figures.
