(Carson City, NV; May 12, 2014) – Secretary of State Ross Miller reminds candidates and public officers that the deadline to file Contributions and Expenses (C&E) Report #1 is 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20, 2014. All C&E reports must be filed electronically through Aurora, Nevada’s campaign finance disclosure database, which will then be immediately available on the website to the general public.

C&E Report #1 covers campaign contributions and expenses from January 1 to May 16. Candidates are required to file even if they received no contributions or spent any funds during the respective reporting periods. Filing deadlines for the remainder of 2014 election cycle are:

C&E Report #2: June 6, 2014 (for the period of May 17 through June 5)

C&E Report #3: October 14, 2014 (for the period of June 6 through October 10)

C&E Report #4: October 31, 2014 (for the period of October 11 through October 30)

C&E Report #5: January 15, 2015 (for the period of October 31 through December 31)

The 2014 midterm election dates are June 10 for the primary election and November 4 for the general election.

The Secretary of State’s office recently upgraded Aurora to provide instant notification of filed and amended campaign finance reports. Interested parties can subscribe for notices from particular candidates and groups as soon as they file C&E reports and financial disclosure statements (FDS). To receive an email notification when a candidate submits or amends a report, choose the “Follow this Candidate/Group” option next to the individual’s or group’s name.

To access Aurora, visit and click the Aurora icon on the homepage. Any questions regarding filing should be directed to the Elections Division at (775) 684-5705.
