SECRETARY OF STATE ROSS MILLER’S OFFICIAL COMMENT ON THE NEVADA SUPREME COURT’S TERM LIMITS DECISION
Carson City, NV; July 25, 2008) – In response to today’s Nevada Supreme Court decision regarding term limits, Secretary of State Ross Miller issued the following statement:
“I am pleased and grateful for the court’s expediency in providing a well-reasoned, fair decision. This decision is a victory for the people of Nevada. It has been and remains the priority of this office to uphold the will of the people of Nevada, and this decision further reaffirms that priority. It also reaffirms the legal obligation of the Secretary of State and the Attorney General to enforce Nevada’s election laws.
This decision should not, in any way, detract from the records of public service of the affected office holders. Each of them has served their respective constituency with integrity, setting admirable standards for public service.”
