Physical Accessibility of Polling Locations
All polling locations in the State of Nevada have been certified compliant under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) using U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) specifications. Each county election official is required to regularly assess the physical accessibility of existing polling locations and must ensure any new polling locations are ADA compliant. This includes addressing the custom needs of individual polling locations. The Secretary of State’s office works with county election officials to facilitate the purchase and statewide distribution of physical accessibility tools, such as ramps and access entrance signs.
Because accessibility needs can differ from person to person, please contact your county clerk/registrar prior to visiting your polling location so that they can be prepared to respond to your specific accessibility needs. All county election officials are required to make reasonable accommodations which will allow a person to vote at his/her polling place.
If you have suggestions or would like to recommend changes that can be made to make your polling location more accessible, please contact either your county clerk/registrar or the Nevada Secretary of State's Office.
