Secretary of State Reports January, 2010 Voter Registration Numbers

(Carson City, NV; February 1, 2010) – Secretary of State Ross Miller’s office today posted the January, 2010 voter registration numbers that show a drop in the number of active Republicans (-681) and Democrats (-363) and an increase in the number of Non-Partisans (+163) compared to the previous month. Statewide, there were 1,139,406 active voters on January 31, 662 fewer than at the end of December, 2009.
Voter rolls grew by 2,333 in Clark County in January, including 744 more Democrats, 633 more Non-Partisans, 594 more Republicans, and 302 new members of the Independent American Party. The number of active voters declined slightly in Washoe County.
The number of voters at the end of January was 94,159 fewer than on January 31 of last year, but 142,741 more than on January 31, 2008, the last federal and statewide election year.
