2012 Nevada Student Mock Election

Student Mock Election Day 2012 is Thursday November 1st!

Update: Because of Hurricane Sandy, both YLI and NSPME have extended student voting!

 - The Youth Leadership Initiative has extended voting through 6pm EDT, Friday, November 2, 2012.

 - The National Student Mock Election has extended voting through 3pm PST, Tuesday, November 6, 2012.

VOTING IS NOW CLOSED!

Nevada Secretary of State Ross Miller and Superintendent of Public Instruction James Guthrie invite all Nevada students, teachers, and parents to participate in this year’s Mock Election program. This year, the Secretary of State’s office is again partnering with the Nevada Department of Education to develop and encourage the next generation of American voters by providing them with the opportunity to learn how to participate in the electoral process by voting for real candidates during a simulated election process. What? 2012 Nevada Student Mock Election Project

When? Fall 2012 - November 1st, 2012
Where? All Participating Nevada Schools
Why? The My Service, My Citizenship project is a comprehensive, interactive, cross-curricular program designed by the Secretary of State's office in partnership with the Nevada Department of Education. The program is designed to educate all Nevada students about the electoral process in the State of Nevada. The project consists of one main activity: The Mock Election Day.
